GLOW (Girls Leading our World) summer school

2 weeks of working with girls in Moldova. We held classes about activism, leadership, self-esteem, breast cancer, self-defense, and of course tye-dye...topics they wouldn't normally learn about in their villages.

watching the americans play the moldovans in baseball.. what happens when a bunch of young americans convene in a foreign country. oddly reassuring. somehow i seem a little distracted by my cuisine in the bottom picture.

English Camp!

I had an English Camp in town for local youth. Thanks to the help of 2 volunteer friends, it was a success, we were even on local television!

Here are a few pictures from my recent trip to Brasov and Sighisoara. Brasov is like a medieval town in the middle of mountains, we absolutely loved it!

Futbal Mania

It's exciting being in Europe during the Euro Cup qualifiying matches. I was in Chisinau last weekend during a match between Russia and Netherlands. The loud cheers that filled the streets blurred the lines, making me wonder, am I in Russia? When they won 3-1 and people poured into the streets wearing Russian flags as capes, their faces painted, it was hard to tell the difference.
